  My partner and I had a lovely time at Bennelong - amazing atmosphere that was classy but not pretentious. The food was very enjoyable and I particularly loved the extra sides that went along with our mains. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

  An absolute disappointment. Have eaten in many fine dining establishments such as Aria, Rockpool and Black Hide (Brisbane) and the food, atmosphere and value for money at Bennelong just was not up to their standard. With a chef like Peter Gilmore, I expected amazing food. This was not what we got. We had a variety of meals - prawns (only 2 small ones in each dish), lamb, John Dory, quail, strawberries, pavlova, chocolate cake, lamington - which were boring and unimaginative. I felt they were dishes that I could have produced at home in my own kitchen. They relied on filling us up with large slabs of bread which were given freely. My best friend who was dining with me, my son and his partner had an incorrect meal bought to her at every course - surely it is basic waiting to get the correct meals in front of people. The bill came to over $600 which I wouldn't have minded paying for a special meal to celebrate my son submitting his PhD, but when the response is " Mum, I wish we had gone to the local Indian - that was totally uninspiring", it was not the reaction I was wanting. My advise - go somewhere else - even the beauty of the opera house did not compensate for the disappointing food and confused service.

  We had a booking on my birthday night. This place has a great atmosphere and attentive service. The food and drink were awesome. At the end I received a small cupcake with a candle to make a perfect birthday night!

  One of the most exquisite and amazing fine dining restaurants in Sydney. The food is phenomenal and I could not fault any dish I tried, definitely worth the price. Would happily come here again and again!

  Food and wine were both great as well - aimed at style and flavour, not quantity. Couldn't fault the service either - all up, a great experience!
