$12 adult, cheaper for students, children, and retirees. If you are really interested, expect 2-2.5h visit. If you're just curious expect 1-1.5h. Free audio tour was super well made and exists in about 6 different languages. One of the better historical museums I've been to. I'm also the kind of person that usually don't think that it's worth paying entry for museums, but in the this case it was well worth it. It's basically a densely informational crash course of the city of Sydney, the convict settlements, how it really worked out in practice, and their relationship with the Aboriginals. All with the basis of this building where most convicts and many female asylum seekers started out in Sydney. I highly recommend this museum at any time of the day.

Excellent Museum. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Building has been very well restored and kept the same feel as it would have been when first build. Must see when in Sydney.

Hyde Park museum is a wonderful way to learn about the early days of the Colony in Sydney. The "Ratty" booklet for kids is a great way to engage them. The dress-ups are fantastic and we had an enjoyable afternoon there.

Nicely set up museum that is a fascinating look at early Australia and the struggle for survival that the first few waves endured. Definitely snag the audio guide and spend some time lounging in the hammocks on the third level and reflect on what it must've been like.

The tour guide was extremely well informed about convicts and Australian history. He made the tour very interesting. I definitely learnt a lot and enjoyed my time here. There are lots of stairs and so it might be tough for some people (people with disabilities and the such) to visit this place. However, it is recommended.
